Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel
格奥尔格·威廉·弗里德里希·黑格尔
1770–1831
Hegel carried post-Kantian Idealism into a vast system: reality is not a static heap of things, but Spirit (Geist) unfolding dialectically in history. Opposites do not merely coexist; they are taken up into higher unities through sublation (Aufhebung).
The Phenomenology of Spirit traces consciousness from sense-certainty toward absolute knowing; the Science of Logic seeks the inner structure of thought and being. His accounts of right, ethical life, and the state place individual freedom within the development of ethical community.
However contested his system may be, Hegel’s treatments of history, alienation, recognition, and dialectic still shape Marxism, existentialism, and contemporary social theory.
